The Melbourne Museum of Printing in Footscray is opening, on a limited basis, for public visits.

The Museum of Victoria has many items from various areas in Victoria. Among those areas is Footscray; they have at least 100 items in their possession which help to preserve the history of the city.

Western Edge Youth Arts which operates out of the Phoenix Youth Centre in Footscray have been awarded two grants from the Australia Council of the Arts. The first grant is a three-year funding grant and the second is the Cultural Leadership Skills Development grant which was awarded to Cymbeline Buhler, the artistic director of communities.

The Maribymong City Council has voted to double the number of paid parking machines in Footscray; this will put the number of paid parking spots up to 1486; at $1.10 an hour these machines will help to pay for community improvements and pay for such facilities as the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre car park, which offers free parking at Highpoint Shopping Centre.

More and more women in Australia are starting their own businesses, according to the latest statistics over 30% of small businesses in the country are owned by women. With this in mind, the Melbourne Business Network presents the annual Women in Business lunch.
